Blog Updates Fall 2018

July 20th

First meeting with Steve. Discussed my ideas and prototype. Feed back was to go find 4 artist to help specify and differentiate what I am doing in the gallery space.


August 22

Second meeting with Steve. Found 4 artist and talked about my concept being about sentimentant objects about great grandmother. However, I was thinking of changing one or two of them. Goal is to solidify 4 artist by next week and meet with Andrew to talk about progress and possibility of checking out HoloLens.


August 25

Started website for BFA gallery show. Finalized and documented 4 artist that help contextualize project and posted to BFA show website.


August 28

Met with Andrew and talked about concept involve my grandmother and sentimental objects. Also discussed potential issuess with live streaming gallery due to one person at a time experience with the head set. Suggested that holograms be abstract. Will work on abstract models of rosaries.


August 29

Met with Steve. Talked about four artist to contextualize the project for the gallery. Also discussed a potential viewable prototype before gallery and issues with the live streaming issue. Suggested looping a video. Will continue to work on models and obtain hololens from andrew to deploy prototype app in the next few weeks


September 6

Met with Andrew and obtained HoloLens for check out. Executed first few models. Drew sketchup Gallery model. Posted first abstract rosary models and gallery models to website.


September 12

Met with Steve. Prototyp was not working correctly at the time. However I showed Steve my to-scale sketchup model of how the gallery is to look like and be presented. We also talked about models as being different sized in relation to the gallery


September 19

Met with Steve. Demonstrated my prototype and discussed the interface hurdle the audience might have with the HoloLens. Live streaming the experience is up in the air due to technical difficulties with trying to get an internect connection at school. Steve recommended a video loop of a session to compensate. Later that night I tested the both versions of the live streaming on microsoft windows version on my lap and the iOS version on my iPad. The iPad proved to be more reliable and easier. However the connection only worked at my home's wifi.


September 25

Met with Andrew. Showed my two prototypes. Andrew suggested to go with the smaller models becasue the model isn't fully viewable on the hololen's view. Also suggested to not use the wire frame that scans the room for make the experience more professional. Later that night I tested out the idea of using my phone as a hotspot for internet connection for the live stream. It worked


September 26

The hotspot alternative worked using my phone's hotspot cabilities. I met with Steve shortly to demo my wireless live stream. He suggested that I get an hdmi adaptor for my iPad so the live stream display can be bigger on a monitor.


September 27

Quickly met with Andrew and other faculty to demo live stream. I also demo and discussed my BFA project to one of Andrews classes
